Power Transformers are transmission system devices used in MV/MV, HV/MV, MV/HV voltages. Those used to increase the voltage from the generator to the high voltage transmission system are called step-up transformers, and those used to reduce the voltage from the transmission system to the distribution level are called step-down transformers. Their power is known in unit MVA.
